The deep indigo of the blue hour sky fades above a sturdy concrete harbor breakwater in Durban. Moonlit surf breaks rhythmically against the base of a lone metal beacon, sending spray into the cool stillness before sunrise. The dark water contrasts with the pale foam as gentle waves lap against the weathered stone. A fishing boat rests quietly in the harbor, its silhouette barely visible in the low light. The quiet transition from night to day along the South African coast, with the horizon line sharply defined against the fading stars.
