Steel Wool Sparks and Milky Way in Zapopan Tunnel in inside a skylit passageway in Zapopan

Steel Wool Sparks and Milky Way in Zapopan Tunnel

by Riley Gregory

Pale walls of the skylit passageway in Zapopan reflect soft, indirect light, creating a minimalist stage for a spinning sphere of steel wool sparks. The sparks form a continuous, glowing trail that cuts through the cool air, against the stillness of the concrete surfaces. Above, an impossible blue sky fills the tunnel opening, displaying the Milky Way in broad daylight. The galaxy arches clearly across the blue, defying the natural light conditions while the sparks remain sharp and defined. A fine line of white light from the spinning steel wool meets the dark dust of the galaxy on the wall.
