Steel Crew Connects Beams in Misty Alberta Dawn

by Brad Sherman

Cold moonlight bleeds through thick mist to illuminate a steel beam connection crew working beneath the towering structure of a crane on open Alberta ground. The predawn darkness wraps the workers in heavy coats and hard hats, their figures defined by the faint glow reflecting off the spud wrenches they grip. Long steel beams stretch into the fog, creating sharp leading lines that guide toward the central group. The metal surfaces show a dull, wet sheen, while the workers maintain disciplined coordination, their movements synchronized against the biting wind. Frost rests on the edges of the steel plates, marking the early autumn chill. at the edge is a single bolt head, cold and silver, catching the pale light against the dark, wet ground.
