Rebar Wrench Tin at Alberta Dawn Light in beside a framed building shell in Alberta

Rebar Wrench Tin at Alberta Dawn Light

by Adelaide Hayes

Pale, flat predawn light washes over wet steel surfaces beside a framed building shell in Alberta. A tin of rebar coupler torque wrenches rests against the rough structure, its red and silver paint dulled by early spring moisture. Tags dangle from ropes alongside the container, while spray-painted markings and laminated permits remain clearly readable on the rough metal. Raw materials absorb the dim light, showing visible water droplets and a gritty texture along the damp ground. Shadows stretch long across the floor, falling across the base of the tin. One rust stain runs down the side of the container.
