Silhouetted Scaffolding Workers at Chengdu Riverside

Deep indigo evening light flattens the lattice steelwork into sharp black lines against the fading sky. Two figures climb the vertical grid, their forms reduced to weather-beaten silhouettes that emphasize the scale of the structure. Below, thick ground fog pools around the riverbank landing, obscuring the water's edge and swallowing the lower supports. Late autumn air hangs heavy, visible only in the way the mist rests on the cold metal joints. The workers' movements appear deliberate and steady as they ascend into the twilight. One figure's hand grips a horizontal bar, the other's boot finds purchase on a diagonal brace. The steel reflects the last ambient glow, creating thin, cool highlights along the edges of the framework.
