Snapdragon Row in Early Morning Shadow Near Nukus

Deep shadow swallows the lower stems of a straight row of snapdragons, leaving only their upper blooms illuminated by a thin rim of morning light. The dry, pale soil around the plants bears the cracked texture of the dry season, with scattered debris from a clearing storm. Green leaves appear heavy and dark against the stark, bright highlights on the flower spikes. Vast negative space surrounds the row, showing the isolation of the garden near Nukus. The light catches the wet edges of petals, creating a sharp contrast with the muted, dusty ground. One shadow stretches long across the dirt, marking the low angle of the sun.
