Family Picnic Under Oak Before Sunrise
Deep shadows cloak a family gathered beneath the sprawling branches of a large oak tree near Abu Dhabi. The dry season air hangs still as the first hints of dawn break, casting thin rim light along the tops of the tree's leaves and the edges of the family's clothing. A brief sun shower falls, visible as faint, diagonal streaks of water against the dark foliage, creating a shimmering curtain around the group. They sit on a patterned rug spread over the dusty ground, surrounded by woven baskets and simple food containers. The negative space surrounding them emphasizes their isolation in the vast, quiet landscape. Water droplets rest on the rough bark of the oak trunk, catching the faint emerging light.
