Silver Onion Furrow in Sri Lankan Vineyard

Wet, silver-green onions line a narrow furrow between wooden vineyard trellis posts. Late afternoon sun falls through overhead leaves, creating shifting patches of bright light and deep shadow across the damp soil. Water beads rest on the slender onion stalks, reflecting the sky in brief, sharp highlights. The earth appears dark and heavy, marked by the recent passage of a rain shower. Wooden posts stand in rhythmic rows, guiding the eye along the curve of the crop. one drop of water slides down a leaf tip, catching the fading light before falling back into the moist earth.
