Midnight Tulip Stripes Over Floodplain in across a floodplain after rain near N'dalatando

Midnight Tulip Stripes Over Floodplain

by Julius Crosby

Vast fields of tulip bulbs stretch across the N'dalatando floodplain in bold, geometric stripes of deep violet and muddy brown. The ground glistens faintly under a starlit sky where the storm has just passed, leaving wet soil that reflects the dim starlight. Narrow ridges create sharp linear patterns against the dark, damp earth. Minimalist bands of color extend toward the horizon, interrupted only by the subtle texture of freshly turned soil. Shadows are soft and uniform, cast by the low angle of distant stars. The scene holds a heavy stillness, with no movement in the rows. At the edge of the frame, a small puddle mirrors the pale stars above.
