Silhouetted Reader and Dog by Glacial Stream

Flat noon light reflects intensely off a glacial stream, turning the water into a blinding sheet of white. In the foreground, a person sits reading a book, their form a dark silhouette against the bright water. A dog rests at their feet, also reduced to a shadowed outline. Patches of ground fog pool in the low depressions of the earth, separating the figures from the rocky terrain. The scene sits at the turn of seasons, where the air remains cool enough for mist but the sun holds a hard, unyielding glare. The edges of the book and the dog's ears catch no detail, defined only by the sharp contrast between the dark figures and the shimmering, reflective surface behind them.
