Silhouetted Mural Decay Under Westminster Sunset

Low-hanging gray clouds hang heavy above a brick underpass in the City of Westminster, filtering the warm orange glow of a setting sun into a stark backlight. A large mural painted on the damp wall stands in deep silhouette, its colors washed out by the fading light. Cracks spiderweb across the plaster, disrupting the faded figures and geometric shapes of the artwork. Broken ceramic tiles litter the wet pavement below, their shattered edges catching faint reflections of the sky. The underpass light flickers overhead, casting intermittent shadows that dance across the fractured surface. Water drips from the concrete ledge above, pooling around the debris on the slick ground. at the edge is a single jagged shard of blue tile resting against a darkened boot print in the mud.
