Silhouetted Lemon Shark Pup in Phnom Penh Mangroves

Copper-toned light falls through the water, illuminating a dense haze of plankton that softens the background near Old Market in Phnom Penh. A lemon shark pup swims in profile, its form rendered as a dark silhouette against the fading glow of the wet season. The water remains still, holding the subject in a moment of suspended calm. Fine sediment particles drift in the current, catching the last rays of the day. Behind the shark, tangled mangrove roots emerge from the murk, their dark shapes anchoring the scene. The fin edges catch a faint rim of light, separating the dark body from the glowing water.
