Ship Wheel in Captain's Cabin at Twilight Drizzle
Raindrops streak the glass of a cabin window, blurring the distant glow of San Nicolás de los Arroyos along the horizon. Inside, a weathered wooden ship wheel dominates the frame, its spokes catching the soft, fading amber light of twilight. The wood shows deep grain and signs of constant use, against the slick, dark metal of the central hub. Outside, autumn leaves in shades of russet and gold rest on the swaying branches of the switchback approach, their wet surfaces reflecting the town's distant streetlamps. A diagonal line of the window frame cuts across the view, creating tension between the warm interior and the cool, drizzling exterior. at the edge is a single droplet of water clinging to the bottom edge of the glass, distorting the lights below.
