Deep shadow envelops a mechanical seismograph drum where a fine needle traces a jagged line across the rotating paper surface. A sharp rim light outlines the metallic casing and the slender arm extending from the shadowed interior. Above the instrument, dramatic clouds gather in dark grey and violet hues against the fading twilight sky, their shapes heavy and textured. The dry season air leaves the equipment surface dust-free and matte. Symmetrical framing places the needle's path directly in the center, creating a precise axis against the chaotic weather outside. The paper spirals outward, showing previous records of ground movement in faint, parallel ridges.
