Sea Glass and Rust on Wet Surface

by Georgia Rush

Pale morning light falls through a skylight, bouncing off smooth white walls to illuminate a tight arrangement of sea glass fragments and rusted metal shards. The glass pieces display muted blues and frosted greens, their edges softened by the recent rain, while the rusted metal offers a rough, textured contrast with deep orange and brown patinas. Water droplets rest on the surfaces, catching the light in small, bright highlights that emphasize the dampness of the turn of seasons. The objects rest on a flat, neutral surface, their arrangement sparse and deliberate. one drop of water rolls slowly across the edge of a jagged glass shard, leaving a glistening trail before disappearing into the shadow.
