Scottish Ceilidh Dancers Midday Overcast Near Inverness
Soft gray light washes over a group of dancers moving in a tight circle, their bodies blurred by the speed of the spin. From behind, the backs of woolen jackets and tartan skirts fill the frame, fabric rippling as couples twist together. Dark storm clouds loom heavy above the distant green hills, pressing down on the gathering. The ground beneath bare feet is a patch of damp, churned earth mixed with short grass. A splash of red tartan contrasts against the muted greens and grays of the landscape. The motion creates a blur of color against the still, brooding sky, while at the edge of a spinning skirt hem catches the edge of the frame.
