Rice Seedlings Bundled Near Orchard Ladders in Hanover

Early spring light spills across a mirrorlike paddy, reflecting the low-hanging gray clouds above. Bundles of green rice seedlings rest tightly against weathered wood and metal crates, their roots damp and tangled. The orchard ladders stand nearby, their rungs showing signs of recent use, casting long, soft shadows that stretch across the wet earth. The water surface remains perfectly still, breaking only where the bundles touch it. Hints of orange from the morning sun touch the tops of the seedlings, against the cool blue tones of the water and sky. one drop of dew rests on the edge of a wooden ladder rung, ready to fall.
