Rainy Rhine Valley Dune Ripples at Dusk

Wet sand forms tight, parallel ripples across a wide valley floor in the Rhine Valley, glistening under the low, gray light of late spring. Steady rain falls, creating a dense field of concentric rings where droplets strike the surface. The wet sand acts as a mirror, doubling the texture of the dunes and the darkening sky above. Golden hour hues struggle to break through the heavy clouds, casting a muted, cool glow over the landscape. Puddles form in the troughs of the ripples, capturing faint reflections of the overcast sky. at the edge is a single raindrop expanding a perfect circle in a shallow trough, momentarily distorting the mirrored image of the wet sand ridges.
