Bright multicolored bands curve high above a flat expanse of flooded rice paddies near Rio de Janeiro. Dark, furrowed tractor tracks cut through the wet earth in the foreground, against the shimmering green and gold of the crops. The midday sun hangs clear and dry in the mountain air, illuminating the water's surface with sharp reflections. No clouds obscure the sky where the rainbow forms a perfect arch. The soil appears rich and dark, absorbing the light while the rice stalks stand upright in the shallow water. A final line of the rainbow's violet edge touches the distant tree line.
