Wet concrete surrounds a cylindrical metal trash barrel standing in the center of a public square in Ranchi. Inside, dozens of spent vigil candles lie submerged in murky water, their wax melted into soft, irregular shapes. The metal surface of the barrel reflects the gray sky and damp pavement, showing streaks of rainwater running down its sides. Small pools of water gather on the ground around the base, mirroring the dull light of the late afternoon. The colors are muted greens and grays, typical of the wet season. Dripping water traces clean lines down the barrel, ending in a small puddle that ripples slightly on the stone floor.
