The cool early morning light casts long, sharp shadows across the canal water, highlighting the sheen of his polished leather shoes and the rough texture of the stone embankment behind him. One, vibrant green potted succulent sits precariously on a nearby ledge, its rigid leaves against the fluid motion of the water.
