Paraglider Launches Through Sharp Fog Edge at Dawn
by Hailey Klein
Vibrant fabric of a paraglider canopy billows upward against a sky of heavy, dramatic clouds. Below, a rugged sea cliff anchors the composition, where a pilot in dark gear leans forward with intense physical commitment. The ground near the cliff edge is dry and textured with sparse, sun-bleached grass typical of the Salvador region's dry season. A surreal, knife-sharp horizontal line cuts across the lower third of the view, separating the solid terrain from a thick, opaque fog that fills the void below. Above this impossible boundary, the air is clear and filled with misty diffused dawn light that highlights the texture of the wet rock and the tension in the lines. The pilot's boots grip the uneven soil just inches from the sudden drop into the white void. One shadow of the harness falls sharply across the dry grass, at the base of the impossible horizon.
