Pancake Ice Field Twilight Sapporo Foothills

Cool blue light washes over a vast expanse of pancake ice forming on the freezing sea surface. Circular ice floes with raised rims pack tightly together, creating a textured mosaic that stretches toward the layered foothills near Sapporo. Heavy overcast skies hang low, diffusing the twilight into a uniform, soft glow that eliminates harsh shadows. The water between the ice discs reflects the gray sky, doubling the visual field in a mirrored composition. Dark silhouettes of the ridge rise in the distance, at the base of the expansive white and gray palette. A sharp edge of a central ice cake catches the faint ambient light, revealing its rough, frozen surface against the smooth, dark water gaps.
