Oxidation Rings on Apple with Moss

Warm candlelight illuminates the exposed flesh of a cut apple, revealing concentric rings of brown oxidation spreading outward from the core. The fruit rests on a bed of vibrant green moss, damp and glistening with monsoon moisture. Tiny water droplets rest on the fuzzy moss fibers, catching the low light. The polished, wet surface of the apple reflects the flickering flame, creating small, sharp highlights against the soft, decaying texture of the fruit. Surrounding the subject, deep shadows and negative space frame the intimate arrangement, showing the quiet contrast between the fresh cut and the ancient, damp earth. at the edge is a single droplet sliding down the curved side of the apple, merging with the moss below.
