Newspaper Flutters Across Rain-Darkened Crosswalk in Gaya

Hard coastal glare bounces off the wet asphalt of a deserted crosswalk in Gaya, illuminating a crumpled newspaper skimming the curb. The paper races along the damp concrete beside a rain-darkened kiosk, its glossy pages fluttering violently in the wind. Gray winter skies sit above the deep black of the wet pavement and the weathered metal frame of the structure. Dry leaves and debris pile against the sidewalk edge, caught in gusts that sweep the street. The newspaper edges curl as it moves toward the gutter, resting momentarily on a puddle before lifting again. A fallen leaf lies on the wet rubber of a discarded tire near the crosswalk's edge.
