Nanjing Hillside City Lights on Pier Railing

Neon reflections shimmer across the cold, wet surface of a dark metal pier railing in Nanjing. Thousands of tiny amber and white lights from the hillside city cascade downward in the background, appearing as a dense, glowing tapestry. The foreground railing is slick with winter moisture, catching the scattered glow of distant streetlamps. Bare, skeletal branches of a nearby tree frame the left edge, their thin twigs stark against the luminous blur of the urban sprawl. Deep shadows pool in the corners of the railing structure, where the lamplight fails to reach. The metal texture shows fine, frost-like condensation along the lower edges, at the base of the vast, glowing city in the immediate, cold reality of the pier.
