Moonlit Field Station Porch with Drying Gear

Low-hanging clouds obscure the star field above a weathered timber porch in Northcote, Melbourne. Cold moonlight spills across wet canvas raincoats and fine-mesh insect nets strung along the eaves. The fabric drapes heavily, glistening with moisture trapped from the early spring rain. Rough-hewn wooden beams show grain darkened by dampness, against the pale, diffuse glow of the night sky. Small droplets rest on the edges of the nets, catching the silver light. A rusted metal hook holds a coiled net against the shadowed wall, its texture sharp against the soft blur of the overcast sky. The porch floor reflects the ambient light, revealing a smooth, wet surface.
