Mongolian Horseman in Ningbo Dawn Snow
Pale morning light breaks through falling snow, catching the rim of a figure on the steppe. The horseman wears traditional Mongolian clothing, a dark hat and heavy robe, standing in deep shadow against the brightening sky. Snowflakes drift down in the air, visible as white streaks against the dark clothing. The ground is covered in dry autumn grass, mixed with fresh white snow. The subject stands at the very edge of the frame, partially cut off by the boundary. Behind the figure, the flat steppe stretches into the distance, where the first light of dawn begins to fade the horizon. The texture of the fur on the horse's neck contrasts with the smooth falling snow. One snowflake rests on the dark brim of the hat.
