Mongolian Horseman on Mawlamyine Riverside Steppe

Late afternoon light falls through a dense canopy of green leaves, casting dappled patches across a dark horse and rider near the muddy banks of a river in Mawlamyine. The heavy, grey monsoon clouds press low over the wet steppe, where slick earth reflects the overcast sky in muted brown and grey tones. The horseman wears a traditional felt coat that glistens with moisture, the leather saddle straps resting against the rough texture of the horse's wet fur. The rider sits rigid in the saddle, eyes fixed forward with a focused intensity. Beside the horse, the water laps quietly against the bank, while overhead, the thick foliage breaks the sunlight into shifting spots of brightness on the wet ground.
