Malagasy Bone Turning Hall Neon Dawn

Sharp red and blue neon reflections stretch across the polished concrete floor of a ceremonial hall, creating geometric patterns that fall across the feet of standing participants. A group of Malagasy individuals arranges themselves in perfect symmetry, their indigo and ochre garments featuring intricate woven textures. Heavy woolen wraps rest on their shoulders, indicating the cool season air. Bare bulbs hang from the ceiling, flickering weakly against the dominant neon glow that washes over the room. Woven mats line the walls beside the wooden ceremonial drums resting on the ground. Visible breath plumes hover still in the pre-dawn light. The glossy black surface of a drum head at the edge of the frame reflects the stoic face of a participant.
