Lumber Train Crosses Trestle Over Foggy Kunming Harbor

Pale timber stacks rest heavily on flatbed cars as a freight train moves diagonally across a steel trestle. Clear dry mountain light from the early afternoon strikes the rough wood grain and the rusted metal rails. A thick layer of dust hangs low above the ground near the water, obscuring the lower embankment. The harbor mouth fades into soft gray fog behind the bridge, hiding the distant shoreline. Late autumn vegetation rests on the slopes in sparse, dry patches. Shadows fall sharply beneath the heavy cargo, showing the weight of the load against the weathered supports. The diagonal line of the tracks creates tension across the frame.
