Winter Sunset Peat Slabs Drying on Fence Fujian
Rich amber light from the dropping sun illuminates a wet peat-cutting bog in Fujian during the dead of winter. Dark, rectangular slabs of earth rest against a thin wire fence, their surfaces glistening with steady rain. The ground appears saturated and uneven, composed of matted peat and mud. Raindrops create small, immediate ripples on the exposed soil and the damp faces of the drying blocks. The sky above is a heavy, grey expanse, against the warm glow touching the horizon. The wire fence stretches horizontally, supporting the heavy, wet slabs that dominate the mid-ground. Rain streaks blur the background, softening the distant tree line into a dark silhouette. A final droplet rests on the edge of a peat block, catching the last of the golden light before sliding down the rough texture.
