Lenticular Cloud Over Patagonian Volcano Golden Hour in through low marine fog in Patagonia

Lenticular Cloud Over Patagonian Volcano Golden Hour

by Edna Bravo

Rich amber light from the setting sun washes over a rugged volcanic peak rising through a thick layer of low marine fog. A smooth, lens-shaped lenticular cloud hovers motionless above the summit, its edges sharply defined against the darker sky. The mountain's dark, craggy slopes are partially obscured by the drifting mist, showing depth and scale. Below the cloud, the fog bank glows with warm tones, against the cooler shadows in the valleys. The sky above transitions from deep orange near the horizon to a pale, clear blue. The entire landscape feels still and silent under the heavy, disciplined presence of the weather formation. A thin ribbon of cloud shadow falls across the lower ridge line.
