Lenticular Cloud Hovering Over Himalayan Peak at Dawn

by Michael Schwartz

Pale amber light spills across the horizon haze, illuminating the crisp edges of a smooth, saucer-shaped lenticular cloud suspended motionless above a jagged mountain ridge. The sky remains a deep, unbroken azure, devoid of scattered wisps, showing the geometric precision of the weather formation. Below, the slopes of the peak display patches of autumnal gold and russet, against the dark, shadowed valleys still holding the night's chill. The air appears perfectly still, freezing the cloud in a state of suspended gravity. Sharp, dark rock faces rise abruptly beneath the floating disc, their textures rendered in high contrast by the low-angle sunlight. at the edge is the sharp, white rim of the cloud catching the first direct ray of the rising sun.
