Volcanic Island Silhouette Against Overcast Dawn

Soft, diffused light from an overcast early morning fills the sky above a jagged volcanic island rising from the open ocean. The island forms a solid black silhouette, its dark basalt slopes and wind-carved ridges visible only as subtle variations along the edge. Heavy, dramatic clouds stack in layers above the horizon, their gray undersides heavy with moisture. The ocean surface appears calm, reflecting the muted gray tones of the sky. Near Lhasa, the stark contrast between the dark rock and the expansive, cloudy expanse defines the view. A thin line of white foam breaks gently against the base of the dark rock.
