Jaguar Crosses Mud Flats in Jordan

Pale late-afternoon light reflects off the tidal inlet, illuminating a jaguar moving across expansive mud flats. The animal's spotted coat stands out against the wet, dark earth where soft dust lifts in gentle eddies. Late autumn air holds no leaves on the sparse vegetation lining the water's edge, only dry stalks bent by the wind. The sky stretches wide and pale above, devoid of clouds, casting a diffuse glow that flattens shadows. Fine particles of sediment hang in the air, catching the reflected sunlight. The jaguar's muscular shoulders rise and fall with each step, hooves sinking slightly into the yielding mud. A thin trail of disturbed water ripples behind the creature, breaking the stillness of the inlet.
