Hedgehog Curled Amid Reed Bed Dappled Light

Spiky quills form a tight, brownish-grey sphere resting on damp soil at the edge of a Gold Coast reed bed. Tall green stalks rise vertically around the curled creature, filtering bright midsummer sunlight into shifting patches of gold and deep shadow. The hedgehog remains motionless, its tiny nose tucked against its hindquarters, creating a focal point of stillness against the swaying reeds. Sunlight catches the individual tips of the quills, highlighting their rough texture against the soft, fibrous blades of grass nearby. A long shadow stretches across the mud to the right, anchoring the small form in the wide, open landscape under a clear sky.
