Ski Gondola Over Morning Fog Sapporo
by Sarah Webb
Cold silver dawn light washes over a groomed ski slope near Sapporo, where early autumn has just begun to tint the surrounding conifers. One aerial tramway gondola hangs suspended above a thick blanket of morning fog that fills the valley floor. The cable lines stretch diagonally from the bottom left, creating strong leading lines that guide the gaze upward toward the cabin. Wind ripples the surface of the fog, distorting the white expanse below into soft, shifting waves. The metal structure of the gondola gleams faintly against the muted sky, its windows reflecting the pale gray light. Below, the groomed snow appears smooth and untouched, marked only by faint tracks near the lift base. The edge of the cable car frame cuts sharply against the hazy background, defining the boundary between the clear air and the low-lying mist.
