Early winter light breaks over the Queenstown horizon, painting the low-hanging haze in pale violet and soft gold. A metal gondola cabin ascends a steel cable, suspended high above the vast, groomed ski slope. The snow surface shows deep, parallel grooves from the snowcat, creating a textured white field that stretches toward the distant mountain peaks. Wind scours the air, visible as fine streaks of blowing snow against the dark steel supports of the lift tower. The cabin hangs motionless yet heavy with anticipation, its glass windows reflecting the pale sky. Converging cables lead toward a vanishing point where the mountain ridge meets the brightening dawn, showing the scale of the resort before the first skiers arrive.
