Autumn Logging Road Through Arkansas Pines
by Henry Moon
Orange low-angle light washes over a dirt logging road cutting a sharp, linear scar through a dense Arkansas pine forest during peak autumn. Copper-toned fog softens the distant canopy while the foreground reveals rough, reddish-brown earth and scattered fallen leaves. Tall, straight pine trunks rise vertically on both sides, their needles turning shades of russet and gold. The road curves gently toward the horizon, dividing the frame according to the rule of thirds. Shadows stretch long across the uneven terrain, highlighting the texture of the bark and the loose soil. The scene maintains cartographic clarity with the road acting as a distinct geometric path through the organic chaos of the trees. A cluster of dry pine needles rests on the muddy shoulder near the bottom right corner.
