Goalkeeper Gloves Drying on Harbor Goalpost at Dawn
Deep shadow swallows the lower half of a rusted metal goalpost anchored to a weathered harbor quay near Lome. Two goalkeeper gloves hang limp from the crossbar, their black rubber palms facing outward. A sharp rim of cool dawn light traces the curved edges of the fingers and the textured grip, separating the dark gear from the bright, perfectly clear sky above. The turn of seasons leaves the surrounding concrete dry and cracked, with faint salt stains marking the metal. The gloves rest heavily, their fingers pointing downward toward the rough ground. A thin reflection of the pale horizon glimmers on the wet rubber surface of the left glove.
