Geometric Terrace Steps in Kathmandu Valley Light

North-window sidelight floods the polished stone steps of a terrace farming model, casting sharp, rhythmic shadows across the undulating surfaces. Early summer greenery frames the miniature landscape, while the earth tones of the soil contrast against the gleaming, wet-looking ridges. The composition centers on the repeating curves of the terraces, which recede into a pool of deep negative space surrounding the structure. Small, scattered highlights dance on the smooth, wet surfaces, showing the precision of the construction. The light angle creates a stark division between the illuminated ridges and the cool, shadowed valleys between them. A final highlight catches the edge of the lowest step, marking the boundary of the miniature world.
