Blue Hour Reflections of Alberta Terrace Farming

by Drew Graves

Cool blue twilight washes over a geometric arrangement of terraced farm steps visible through a window or onto a glossy interior surface. The stepped earth forms sharp, parallel lines that repeat in a mirrored reflection, creating a symmetrical composition where the real terraces meet their inverted counterparts. Late spring vegetation rests on the ridges, appearing as thin green threads against the darkening soil. Soft, diffuse light from the sky casts a uniform glow without harsh shadows. The reflection ripples slightly near the edges, distorting the perfect geometry into a playful visual puzzle. A sharp, dark edge of the frame cuts across the bottom right, at the base of the floating shapes in physical reality.
