Fishermen Mending Nets Before Sunrise

Pale walls reflect soft, indirect light into a quiet corner of a room near Sharm el-Sheikh, where a miniature net-mending yard sits on a bedside table. Coarse, weathered trawl nets in shades of deep indigo and rust rest on a small wooden surface, their tangled fibers catching the dim glow of a nearby lamp. The dry season air hangs still, preserving the texture of the synthetic ropes and the rough grain of the wood. One hand, visible in the frame, holds a needle, poised to stitch a tear in the mesh. Shadows pool in the deep folds of the netting, while the surrounding space remains open and uncluttered, showing the disciplined precision of the repair work against the calm, pre-dawn stillness.
