Fire Rainbow Arc Over Indiana Rainy Fog
by Jonah Yoder
Vivid bands of spectral color stretch horizontally across the sky, forming a rare fire rainbow against a backdrop of thin, wispy cirrus clouds. Below, a thick layer of low marine fog rolls over the flat Indiana landscape, obscuring the ground and softening the horizon. The light is diffuse and even, characteristic of midday after a rainstorm, with no harsh shadows visible. The clouds appear almost translucent, allowing the rainbow's neon reds, oranges, and yellows to glow intensely without the interference of direct sunlight. Patches of gray sky peek through the cirrus, creating a muted contrast to the electric brightness of the arc. The fog drifts slowly, its white surface blending seamlessly into the distant treeline. A thin strip of green grass remains visible where the fog lifts slightly near the bottom edge of the frame.
