Electric Ray Silty Floor Monsoon Mumbai Shelf
Pale electric rays rest upon a dark, silty seabed where fine sediment particles drift in the water column. The scene unfolds along a kelp-fringed shelf near Mumbai, with tall, dark fronds swaying gently in the background. First light penetrates the deep water from above, creating a thin, bright rim along the edges of the kelp and the ray's wings while the center remains in shadow. The water is exceptionally clear, allowing layers of depth to recede into the distance without haze. Slow-moving surface ripples distort the light into faint, shifting patterns on the silt below. A small cluster of marine debris settles near the ray's tail, marking the quiet weight of the ocean floor.
