An overcast midday diffuses the harsh light over a narrow Luxor alleyway where a local repairman works on a motorbike. His worn hands manipulate a key blank near the ignition, the metal dull against the grimy plastic casing. Beside him, a stack of copper pots catches the flat, gray sky, their surfaces reflecting the muted tones of the surrounding limestone walls. A peg rail shadow stretches across the plaster of a nearby shopfront, marking the time with geometric precision.
