A narrow alleyway in Luxor glistens under the heavy, gray light of dusk as rain begins to fall, turning the dusty ground into slick, reflective mud. An elderly man in a faded white galabeya and a dark apron leans against a doorway, shielding a stack of woven baskets with a translucent plastic sheet. The wet fibers of the baskets catch the dim ambient light, creating a textured contrast against the smooth, rain-slicked terracotta pots lined up nearby. In the background, the warm glow of a shop sign spills onto the wet pavement, reflecting off glossy enamel surfaces of a parked motorbike.
