Dawn Dust on Ceramicist Sleeves in Ipoh Square
Monsoon rain has left the concrete pavement of Ipoh's public square glistening under the first pale light of dawn. A ceramicist stands at the right edge of the view, their posture still as they look up toward an open doorway. Fine white clay dust coats the rolled-up sleeves of a dark work shirt, catching the low-angle sidelight that skims across the rough fabric. The wind whips the loose hem of the shirt and stirs the wet air, visible only through the movement of the garment against the damp skin. Behind the figure, the square opens into a shadowed arcade where the doorway frames a sliver of the brightening sky. Raindrops rest on the clay particles on the shoulder, creating tiny, heavy beads against the dry dust. The wet ground reflects the gray sky in fragmented patches near the ceramicist's boots.
