Crows Lift From Plowed Field Under Twilight Lines

Cool blue light washes the horizon where dark telephone wires stretch across a freshly plowed field in late summer. A low angle view emphasizes the rough, turning earth beneath a flock of black crows just ascending into the dimming sky. To the left, large cylindrical hay bales stack in neat rows, their golden surfaces catching the last ambient glow. Fine chaff and dust drift through the air, suspended by the birds' movement and the settling soil. The texture of the furrows runs deep and parallel, leading toward the distant tree line. Dust particles hang in the cool air near the ground, marking the edge of the day.
